Local Area Information

One Spring Lake is ideally located for exploring the Cotswolds, see what is on our doorstep:

The Cotswold Waterpark has many footpaths and cycle paths within the waterpark.  There is direct access to National Route 45 from the end of the lake. Other activities include: sailing, waterskiing, inflatable rides, archery, clay target, air rifle lessons, paddleboarding, kayaking, canoeing, windsurfing, high ropes, bird watching, outdoor swimming, and lots more!

The beautiful South Cerney village is a 4 minute drive or a 15 minute walk away. There you will find two convenience stores, a tandoori restaurant and takeaway (will deliver to the lakehouse), a deli/post office and three pubs. Home to the infamous 'Bow Wow'.

Cricklade is a good hours walk but always rewarding as there are many eateries and drinking establishments to help you build the strength to walk home again! Alternatively, catch the bus home, the number 51 and 51A stops right at the entrance of Spring Lake. The Cricklade Club is a quirky cafe/bar with craft beers, well worth a visit. The Red Lion pub in Cricklade is home to the Hop Kettle Brewing company, try one of their own brewed beers (including gluten free beers).

Did you know the Cotswolds has its very own inland beach? A five minute drive or a pleasant cycle ride away, The Cotswold Country Park and Beach has an Aquaventure area, mini golf, swan pedaloes, mini electric boats, kayak and SUP hire, a go kart track, cafe and of course - a beach! Does get busy, book online before you plan to visit.

Cirencester, known as the capital of the Cotswolds is a ten minute drive away where you will find beautiful buildings, shopping and restaurants. Attractions here also include the Corinium Museum, Bathurst Estate and Cirencester Park.

Slightly further afield but still within a 30 minute drive you can find the beautiful Cotswold villages of Bibury, Stow on the Wold, Naunton, Bourton on the Water (home to Birdland), The Slaughters, Burford, Painswick, Moreton in Marsh and Tetbury. Tetbury being the home to Prince Charles at Highgrove House. Local to Tetbury is Westonbirt Arboretum, now with a tree top walk. Don't miss Westonbirt in the Autumn when the trees put on an amazing show of colours. Also when the arboretum stages its Enchanted Christmas event, with an illuminated trail through the trees.  Chedworth Roman Villa is also a 25 minute walk and Gloucester Quays is about 30 minute drive away.
